Thanksgiving for Financial Support
Thanks to God and church members are in order.
Peace has purchased new hymnals. There have been generous gifts which have made the mission goal for 2007 attainable. The 2007 commitment for Missionary Carl Hanson has already been met.
St Paul has purchased a new heating system, a new copier and new hymnals. There still is some balance remaining for the boiler, but through generous giving these needs have been well addressed.
In both congregations, there is every reason to be grateful to God and each other as we work to conclude the 2007 budget year.
Pen Friend
Calling all adults! Located on the round table in the social hall is a Pen Friend sign up sheet. The adults in the congregation are invited to be a “pen friend” with one of the congregation’s children. In our modern society kids tend not to have as many adults in their lives as was the case years ago. Studies tell us that kids who do have 5 – 7 adults in their lives are less likely to be on drugs and more likely to succeed in life. Adults and children who share the Christian faith can fellowship with each other also in this special way.
Contemporary Service
The contemporary service was well received. Plans are to conduct a similar service again, possibly in late January. The service would be similar to the one conducted November 11th, the addition of a few different songs, but keeping many of the same songs in order to get to know them.

Issachar Meetings
Meetings lead by Rev. Bob Riggert and Carole White used 1 Chron. 12:32 “…men of Issachar who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” Representatives from each parish came up with separate ideas regarding some things the congregations might do.
· Ideas the two congregations might consider doing together.
1. Have a joint mission project.
2. Alternate Easter Sunrise services.
3. Put something in pews as a fun way to encourage worshippers to sit closer to the front of church.
4. Have more socializing in each parish and together.
· Ideas each congregation might think about separately.
Peace
