From the Fan Into Flame Newsletter
How can you tell the world about Jesus? That’s an overwhelming task by yourself. But try partnering with your congregation, District and Synod and it’s not so overwhelming. In fact it could be life changing for you, for your congregation, and for those who do not yet know Jesus as their Savior. That’s what Ablaze! and Fan into Flame are all about, reaching those who do not yet know Jesus as their Savior in your community and across the world. The total of gifts and pledges received Synod-wide to date is $45,536,038. Total pledged for IDW: $286,713. Praise God!
Public Statements on Same Sex Marriage
The President of Synod has published a statement in response to the California Supreme Court ruling on same sex marriage. In his statement, Rev. Dr. Gerald B. Kieschnick both laments the decline of our culture in this regard and encourages the response of Gospel of love that applies to all sinners. The Missouri Synod pastors of the Algona Circuit are in process of composing a public statement of their own in this regard.
Anniversary of 35 Years in the Pastoral Ministry
St Paul and Peace are each recognizing Pastor Angland’s 35 years in the pastoral ministry. Both congregations are holding pot lucks. The pot luck at Peace will be at noon on Sunday, June 7th and the pot luck at St Paul will be after worship on Sunday, June 21st.
The St Paul LLSP Meets Thursday June 4th and the Peace Guild Meets Thursday June 25th.
